The studies of the team of Shu-Sheng Liu, from the University of Zhejiang (China), revealed a series of curious and surprising behaviors of Bemisia tabaci, a whitefly, thanks to which it has earned the reputation of being one of the worst agricultural pests in the world. Many different subgroups are known of the insect, and among these is the so-called "B", probably originating in the Mediterranean regions and Asia Minor, which has managed to spread everywhere. Merit above all of his sexual behaviors: in presence of other subgroups he increases the reproduction and, at the same time, the male "B" also courts females of other groups. Not to mate: just to interfere with the development of the opposing species.
